I don’t know about you, but one of my happy places is definitely in a fold out chair on the beach with the tide running up to my toes. Here are some of the best beaches to go to for your summer trip.

The South

Orange Beach, Alabama

If you are from the South the chances are that you probably have been to Orange Beach before or Gulf Shores. This beach is great because it comes with a lot more than just a beach. If you want to hit the trails you can go to Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail, which is a trail filled with lots of wildlife and nature. If you are wondering about beach bars I cannot recommend enough the Flora-Bama. This bar is frequently visited by country artists and is known for their live music. This beach is a better place for the younger crowd, but still a great place to go to.

Rosemary Beach

If you are looking for a family friendly environment this destination is definitely what you are looking for. Besides the beautiful white, clearwater beaches there are also other activities to do while you are there. If you are looking for a good place to eat lunch, shop, or just explore then you need to go check out the Rosemary beach town. Because everything is in close proximity with each other it is very easy to bike and walk from place to place.

The East

Folly Beach, South Carolina

There are many beaches around the Charleston area. Among all of the beaches Folly beach is arguably the most known and the most talked about. This beach actually has a couple of surf spots if you plan on surfing or trying to catch some nice waves. The great thing about this beach is that it is only a short 20 minute drive away from Charleston.

Provincetown, Massachusetts

If you love beach towns this is it! Hence the name Provincetown. One place you may want to check out is Commercial Street. It is a walkable street filled with shops and restaurants. If you are into historical sights I would recommend seeing the MacMillan Wharf. This wharf is a historical staple of this fishing village. This destination is for everyone and provides an opportunity to have fun in every corner.

The West

Laguna Beach, California

Now this beach is known nationwide and for good reason. With beautiful water and sand it's hard not to love it here. After going to the beach you are going to get hungry. To make sure that you still have a nice beach view I would recommend eating at The Cliff. They offer a variety of traditional foods. If you are a wildlife lover you are in luck because whales populate the waters a short distance away. So if you find a charter you can go whale watching.

Santa Monica, California

This destination has lots to do besides the beach. When not at the beach the pier tends to be a large attraction for most. The Santa Monica Pier offers rides, concessions and restaurants. If you are into shopping makes sure to check out Rodeo Drive containing stores with luxury goods. This beach is definitely worth the trip and the experience.
