Think about how often you are inside and looking at your phone. Think about all that mindless scrolling and fleeting posts you see on social media. You keep telling yourself to get off the couch and be active. Yet, another ten minutes go by and eventually it adds up to another hour lost. The good thing about all of this is that you finally understand that you need to go outside to look around and enjoy the beauty of life instead of looking at other peoples life. Here are a few apps that will help rid yourself of laziness and bring you on fun adventures big and small.

Happy couple hiking together

This app brands itself as the world's largest treasure hunting community. This app leads you to hidden containers called geocaches. The way it works is that you go onto the app and click on an icon on the map which will give you a clue and the coordinates of the hidden container. The best part about this is once you get to the location you have to search every nook and cranny to find the cleverly hidden treasures. The community for this is huge and engaging which can lead you to a great hobby and many adventures to come.

The Dyrt

Can’t decide between a road trip or to go camping? Why not both? The Dyrt app plans your road trips from campsite to campsite. If you are a Dyrt novice you don’t need to worry about anything because Dyrt provides recommended trips for you. Not only that, but it also estimates your fuel costs and plans gas stops along your route. Now that all the planning is taken care of you can easily grab some friends and create some long lasting memories.

Watching sunsets marks the end of the day for a lot of people, but after the sunset people just go about their business. They forget about the next extraordinary event….the stars. Of course people may be familiar with well known constellations like The Big Dipper or Orion’s Belt, but what about the rest of the stars? Even if you know a lot of constellations it sometimes can get pretty crowded up there. The Night Sky app helps you locate constellations, specific stars, and even planets. So next time you're underneath those big balls of light open up the app and learn something.

Or maybe you are just looking for any type of outdoor experience from horseback riding, to fishing, or just staying in a cabin in the middle of the woods. This app compiles outdoor opportunities provided by “stewards”. These stewards provide unique opportunities for the traveller to experience for a reasonable price. These gigs work out best if you have someone to share it with, so make sure you bring a friend or two.
